Sun Belle Seedless Cucumbers
Greenhouse seedless cucumbers trump field grown cucumbers in most respects:
Also known as English cucumbers, Greenhouse seedless cucumbers trump
their field grown cousins. They are consistently crisp and fresh tasting and are 100 percent usable,
skin and all.
The skin of seedless cucumbers is thin and mild, so does not need to
be peeled, and there are no seeds to scoop out.
The skin being mild and edible is noteworthy since the skin contains most of a cucumber's fiber and
nutrients,
including silica which helps maintains healthy skin.
Seedless
cucumbers can easily be sliced into spears and salted as a school lunch or home
snack. Sliced into salads or used to scoop dips, they are a family favorite.
Nothing is cooler than India’s famous raita salad, grated or
thinly sliced
cucumbers combined with yoghurt, cumin, lemon and salt. The elegance of
cucumbers is on display when thin slices of cucumber rounds are
arranged on
a poached fish.
Sun Belle seedless cucumbers are
individually wrapped in plastic to prevent dehydration since cucumbers are more than 90 percent
water. Once the wrap is removed, a seedless cucumber is 100 percent cucumber. It is without the
mineral oil or wax coating applied on field-grown cucumbers to minimize dehydration.
